Performing Artist
Gabriela is a physical theatre artist based in Cambridge UK. She enjoys the process of group creation and during her career she has strived to join and remain in established theatre companies. She has worked on many projects in Mexico, Chile and in the UK, as an actress, director, producer and trainer.
She was mentored by renowned Latin American artists, like Abraham Oceransky, Teresa Ramos and Rafael Degar. Gaby takes pride in carrying on the legacy of Latin American acting and movement analysis techniques, which draw inspiration primarily from Meyerhold's biomechanics and traditional Latin American practices.
Her artistic views and approach to emotional exploration, are influenced by body psychotherapy theories and are contained by its ethical framework. Currently she is in the clinical phase as a body psychotherapist in Cambridge, delivering somatic therapy in Cambridge and its surrounding areas.
Powered by earl grey tea, she pedals around Cambridge imagining theatrical scenes that translate human behaviour into an artistic language that is enjoyable for both artist and audience. She always wears a helmet.
